Background
Louis graduated from Cardiff University and am a Barrister-at-Law of the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s inn and he was previously a senior associate in the dispute resolution team of Messrs Chong + Kheng Hoe and Messrs Rosli Dahlan Saravana Partnership, also with an added focus on Employment and Industrial Relations Law.
Other than Employment Law-related matters, Louis in the past had also acted and/or assisted in various civil and commercial litigation ranging from minority oppression, defamation, shareholders disputes, breach of director’s duties, corporate fraud as well as defending clients charged with penal code offences, communications and multimedia offences, and national security offences.

Louis’ background in both civil and criminal litigation has equipped him with the necessary skillsets to ensure his clients’ interests are protected and promoted at all fronts, and for him to be a strategic and all-rounded legal advisor to his clients.
Notable Results & Experiences
- Successfully defended a publicly listed Company against a constructive dismissal claim by its Chief Operating Officer, and successfully established that she had voluntarily resigned.
- Successfully defended a publicly listed Company against a wrongful dismissal claim by its Sales, Vice President, and established that she committed the misconduct of abuse of confidential information and unlawful interference with trade.
- Successfully defended a major local telecommunications Company against a wrongful dismissal claim by its Process Analyst, and established that she was indeed a poor performer, and there was due process including performance improvement plans before her dismissal.
- Represented a intergovernmental organisation in a Judicial Review application against the decision of the Minister of Human Resources to refer the two Industrial Relations representations to the Industrial Court. The High Court ruled in favour of the organisation, quashed the referral, and made a declaratory order that the intergovernmental organisation enjoys immunity for jurisdiction.
- Appointed by a multinational telecommunications conglomerate as an external investigator to investigate a whistle-blowing complaint against one of its subsidiary. Successfully completed the investigation and submitted a report which the company acted upon.
- Represented an oil & gas company in initiating a suit against its former employees for breach of duty of fidelity and interference with trade.
- Represented an international organization in a suit against its Director for abuse of power and negligence, and successfully achieved a consent judgement whereby the Director compensated a 6-figure sum to the organisation.
